St. Ignatius School Receives a Kenedy Grant!!

We are pleased to announce that St. Ignatius School has received a Kenedy Grant in the amount of $15,000. The focus of this grant is to enhance and strengthen the school's Reading & Writing and Math & Science programs. With the funds from this grant some of the items that the school will purchase are: the upgraded Accelerated Reader Program, Accelerated Math Program STAR Reading, STAR Math, and a reading series for the PreK4 called Happily Ever After.

St. Ignatius School Student takes 3rd Place at PSIA State Competition

On Saturday, April 26, 2008 seven students competed at the PSIA state competition at Texas Christian University, Fort Worth:

Bobcat Fun Run a Huge Success!

Thank you to all those who made this years Bobcat Fun Run a success our students were able to reach their goal and raise $72,000 to go toward the purchase of new textbooks.

St. Ignatius School One Act Play Team takes Fourth in their Regional

On Saturday, March 29, 2008 twelve students from St. Ignatius, Martyr, Catholic School traveled to Tyler, Texas to compete in the PSIA Area 6 One Act Play Competition. In Tyler they competed against 7 other schools from central, north, and east Texas. The students performed A Midsummer Night's Dram by William Shakespeare and came in 4th place. Over 110 actors competed and our very own, Tomas Maia, won 1st place as Cast Superstar for his role as Puck, the mischievous woodland spirit. Two of Thomas's cast mates received Honorable Mention: Pilar Villanueva as King Oberon and Laura Gomez as Helena. The Cast for this year's competition consisted of Theresa Hodapp, Victoria Ysla, Antonio Garcia, Jillian Malone, Frances Hodapp, Matthew Vondrak, Jennica Totanes, Amanda Dugas, Patrick McCarthy, Tomas Maia, Pilar Villanueve, and Laura Gomez. Next year the team hopes to compete closer to home and best their fourth place finish.
