SADDLE UP BOCATS! We would like the staff, parents, and students to participate in the Celebrate, Texas, Texas Independence Day Parade! The parade takes place on Saturday, March 1st at 10:30 AM. The march to the Capital starts at the Ann Richards Bridge (Congress Ave. Bridge) and ends at the Capital gates. This parade celebrates the independence that Texas won in 1836. Many groups of people, from all walks of life, participate yearly to celebrate the beginning of Texas History Month. Staff, students, and parents are asked to wear their St. Ignatius gold shirts or white t-shirts with jeans. Jazz up your outfit with a bandana, sheriff's badge, coon skinned cap, or cowboy hat! Parents must stay and supervise and/or chaperone their own children Parking is available at the corner of Riverside and Congress in the TX Dot parking lot. Staff, students, and parents are asked to meet as a group beside the Bat sculpture near The Living Room (store) no later than 10:00 AM. There will be some refreshments available for student participants near the Bat sculpture. Port-o-lets will be available. | ||
