We are excited to announce the third year of the Good News People program at St. Ignatius Martyr beginning October 2015!
We are currently forming small groups to engage in this parish-based program inviting people to new ways of understanding their faith, themselves and the needs of the world around them.
The Good News People program is an engaging parish-wide, small group, community-building process. On this journey you are invited to pray, reflect, learn, discuss and grow into a deeper understanding of what it means to live as a disciple in today’s world.
The program involves a 14-week commitment with sessions lasting 2 hours. Each session includes prayer, reflection on sacred scripture, teachings from the Catechism, stories of “Good News” people, discussion and sharing as well as a specific focus on a virtue for the week.
Goals of the Program:
To explore the call to discipleship and strengthen the bonds of community through prayer, reflection and action;
To learn more about the richness of the Catholic faith through scripture, the Catechism, Church teaching and the lives of the saints;
To find renewed hope in living the gospel and putting your faith into action.
The intent is to familiarize participants with the Biblical witness of Jesus, awaken the call to discipleship that resounds within each participant and explore the richness of the Catholic faith in the ultimate hope of inspiring new passion for and engagement in the Church’s mission.
