Living our faith with all of today’s challenges takes reflection, study, prayer and community. It is our great fortune to have the JustFaith program available to parishioners of St. Ignatius Martyr.
The JustFaith program offers an opportunity for parishioners to experience a spiritual journey into compassion. Most of us long to be a generous and compassionate people. However, the opportunities to explore this tradition in a deliberate and engaging way have largely not been available.
JustFaith, now offered in hundreds of parishes across the country, provides a lively and challenging format to read, view, discuss, pray, experience and be formed by the justice tradition, which changes lives, inspires faithful witness, and transforms the world through love and service.
JustFaith offers an intensive education and formation program for people who are interested in social ministry and social justice. Throughout the program, there are three primary themes addressed:
1. Theological/Biblical/Doctrinal: Who is God? Who is Jesus? Who are we?
2. Sociological/Political: What does the world today look like and why?
3. Given #1 and #2: What is my role as a Christian in the world today?
The intent of JustFaith is to help participants recognize God’s presence in fresh and accurate ways and to see the world with eyes wide open. To accomplish this, the foundational insights of the Bible and Catholic social teaching are constantly resourced.
