Joining JustFaith

For the past few weeks you have read and heard about JustFaith. This is a great program based on the Seven Principles of Catholic Social Justice. This week I share with you the following ideas from the founder of JustFaith, Jack Jezreel.

"Who should take JustFaith? People from a broad spectrum of life, young and old, rural and suburban, a variety of economic groups - a melting pot of possibilities. It is for all who are serious about living their faith and making a difference to make a commitment to doing the program. JustFaith is for those who are seeking a spiritual element in all that they are doing. There are no qualifications for beginning the journey. Rather, JustFaith meets people where they are, inviting them into a binding and sharing experience that helps them to grow in community.

Why take JustFaith? JustFaith equips ordinary people with the tools to ‘be the change they want to be in the world.' The problems of the world are not insurmountable if enough people work together to solve them. JustFaith draws us closer, helping each of us to become the person God wants us to be."

Appropriately, the JustFaith story begins and ends with the breaking of the bread in community. It is the Eucharist that compels us to commit ourselves to the poor. It is the Eucharist that gives us the courage to invite others to spend nine months of their lives pursuing Jesus among the broken and downtrodden." I would encourage you to prayerfully consider joining the JustFaith program this Fall.
