Middle School Youth Ministry

Encourages and develops a love for Christ. This is done in a variety of ways, including but not limited to, Liturgy, Middle School Youth Group, Catechesis, Sacrament Preparation, Middle School Leadership Team, Diocesan events, multi-parish events, lock-ins, and community service opportunities.

Requirements: To be a Middle School Catechist varies depending on level of involvement; be at least 15 years of age; complete the Diocese of Austin Ethics and Integrity Workshop.
Time Commitment: Varies depending on level of involvement.

Mission Trip

St. Ignatius Youth Ministry will be sponsoring a Mission Trip for youth and their families to Mexico July 2nd-9th. Estimated cost: $120, plus passport expenses. Contact Rita to sign-up for the trip and learn more. Adult chaperones are needed too!

Religious Education And Youth Ministry

Join us for the Parish Picnic at 2p.m. and an outdoor Mass at 5p.m.! And afterward, join us for more games and a sneak peak at our special summer session: Theology of the Body.

Youth Ministry News April 27

MT Time! That's right; it's a return of our Multi-Topic Nights. What are some of the topics? Craig and Elizabeth are leading on Relationships, Tori M. and Dana on Trust, and we have other topics planned too. Come check it out from 6:30p.m.-8p.m. in the Family Center.

Religious Education and Youth Ministry News March 23

Vacation Bible School registration starts the first part of May 2008. V.B.S. date is June 16th -20th from 8:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Cost will be $30.00 per family.

No Life Night Easter Sunday. Spend time with your family, and spend some time in personal prayer reflecting on what Christ has done for you through His death and resurrection. And join us next Sunday, March 30th for our next Life Night from 6:30p.m.-8p.m. in the Family Center. Topic: Community Building and Empowerment- Sharing our concerns about our lives and our community and begin making that difference.

Confirmation Classes begin Wednesday, March 26th from 7p.m.-8:30p.m. in the Annex Chapel on Euclid Ave. Confirmation Handbooks were mailed two weeks ago to all families with youth registered to celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation this year. Please remember the Confirmation Retreat is this weekend, Saturday, March 29th from 9a.m.-6p.m. If you have not received a Confirmation Handbook or have questions about Confirmation please contact Rita.

Join us at 6:30p.m. for snacks (Pray21 starts at 6:45p.m.) on Sunday, March 2nd in the Family Center as we grow closer to God together through this intergenerational prayer during this special Lenten experience.Presentation of the Lord's Passion- For the past several years, the youth of St. Ignatius have presented through mime a performance of the Lord's Passion and Death on Good Friday. Any youth grades 8th thru 12th interested in participating, please contact Rita for details.

Pray21: "Don't just pray for me, pray WITH me." Pray21 is a 21-Day National Movement created for teens and adults to pray together to discover their calling, their vocation, from God. For 4 Sundays in a row, teens and adults from St. Ignatius will be paired up to pray together on Sunday evenings at 6:45pm-7:45pm. Pray21 will begin Feb 17. High School - It's Lent, are you ready for the 40 days? Join us from 6:30p.m.-8p.m. on Sunday, February 10th in the Family Center as we explore the season of Lent and what we're doing to prepare for it.

Edge (Middle School): Calendar Correction! Classes are scheduled this week, Tuesday, February 12th and Wednesday, February 13th from 6p.m.-7:30p.m. in the Annex. Join us as we explore Christ in the Media and its effect on our lives.

Edge (Middle School) Lock-in: Join us from 8p.m. on Friday, February 22nd to 8a.m. on Saturday, February 23rd. 12-hours of fun and faith!

Souper Bowl of Caring: Thank you to all those who donated to the Souper Bowl of Caring. You helped the St. Ignatius Youth raise $747.61, which is $300 more than last year! Nationwide, over $4.4 million was raised to help the hungry and those in need.

Join in on the wonderful experience of celebrating the beatification of Fr. Basil Moreau! And we'll be back to Life Nights on Sunday, January 27th in the Family Center from 6:30p.m.-8p.m..

Edge (Middle School Youth): Saints Alive! Join us on Tuesday, January 22nd and Wednesday, January 23rd from 6p.m.-7:30p.m. in the Annex Building for our next Edge Night.

Souper Bowl of Caring is coming again to St. Ignatius! On Sunday, February 3rd, 140 million Americans will watch the Super Bowl football game. There will be parties with abundant food, friendship and fellowship. At the same time, there will be people worrying about staying warm, finding shelter and a warm meal. Please join our St. Ignatius youth in this nationwide effort to demonstrate God's love by loving our neighbors through the Souper Bowl of Caring. It's a simple, yet significant act of caring for others. Drop $1 (or more) or canned goods in the soup pots our youth will be holding at the Church doors as you leave Mass on February 3rd.
