Ever wonder how best to serve the people we see on the street corners with the "Will work for food" signs? Here's one solution. Give them a Project Hope Bag. The Prison Ministry group assembles the bags which contain bottled water, and one can each of meat, veggie, and mixed fruit with plastic ware. March 29-30, you can take one (or more) bag(s) for a minimum $2 donation per bag. See how great it feels to help feed your brothers and sister. Proceeds will be used to supply more bags. Thank you for your support. "I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink...He will answer them, ‘Amen, I say to you, what you did not do for one of these least ones, you did not do for me.'" Matthew 25

LOOKING FOR A DEEPER MEANING IN YOUR LIFE? The season of Advent is a time of hopeful expectation. We are preparing ourselves for a deeper meaning. On behalf of Fr. Joe, the Community Building Team invites you to come join some of your fellow parishioners for prayer, conversation, and the sharing of some of our dreams and hopes for this Advent season, and beyond. These conversations will take no more than an hour of your time, but could be quite powerful in building relationships with our fellow parishioners. After all the Masses on December 8th and 9th, we will meet in small groups in the Family Center. (Note: the meetings after the Sunday evening Mass on December 9th will be in the Church.)
Mass for our Lady of Guadalupe: The bilingual Mass for our Lady of Guadalupe will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 12th. St. Ignatius will have its own Matachines, a traditional dance group that will perform during the Mass. In addition, children from our faith community will present brief skits of the apparitions of Our Lady of Guadalupe. The music for the Mass will be interpreted by the St. Ignatius mariachi group. The celebration will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a musical prelude. Mass will begin at 7 p.m.
After Mass the celebration will continue with a food and music at the Family Center. Tickets for the meal will be sold. Everyone is invited to attend. If you are interested in participating as a Sponsor (Padrino) please call Juan Mata at 280-2610. Read More »

Dear Parishioners of St. Ignatius,
I want to thank you all very much for the super-generous donation of $24,097.29 for our Holy Cross Mission Parish in Monterrey, Mexico. I am most grateful to Father Joe and all of you for your wonderful hospitality. It is always a 'sentimental journey' when I come back to St. Ignatius. I have so many great memories--from my time at St. Ignatius and from my visits during the past 14 years. Read More »

Justice Anchored in Prayer
Our social ministry must be anchored in prayer, where we uncover the depths of God's call to seek justice and pursue peace. In personal prayer, the reading of the Scriptures, and quiet reflection on the Christian vocation, we discover the social mission of every believer. In serving those in need, we serve the Lord. In seeking justice and peace, we witness to the reign of God in our midst. In prayer, we find the reasons, the strength, and the call to follow Jesus in the ways of charity, justice, and peace.
