Director of St. Ignatius Food PantryThe Director of the St. Ignatius Food Pantry is responsible for all aspects of procurement and distribution of food, authorized prescription drug assistance, and procurement & distribution of transportation vouchers, including pickup, receipt, storage, authorization and distribution to qualified community members in need. The Director trains and manages volunteers to ensure effective daily operation. The Director reports to the Pastor and the Parish Business Administrator.

Duties
- Manage all aspects of food inventory procurement, controls, and distribution.
- Manage all aspects of transportation vouchers procurement, controls and distribution.
- Manage all aspects of Rx assistance requests, control and procurement. -
- Maintain adequate food supply to provide the best quality food within budget: -
- Order and receive food and validate invoices from food bank -
- Pickup, receive, and record food donations -
- Maintain supply and ensure all food is sorted and stored in a safe and sanitary manner
- Review inventory weekly & provide required Central Texas Food Bank reports. -
- Work with area grocery stores & restaurants to coordinate donation pick up. -
- Utilize FIFO (first in, first out) inventory practices to ensure food quality and minimize waste.
- Orient volunteers to food available and required tasks to prepare for food distributions.
- Maintain bus pass inventory for distribution based on pantry guidelines and within budget
- Manage & Coordinate prescription drug assistance based on pantry guidelines and within budget
- Review & revise safety policies as needed to ensure the safety of clients, volunteers, and distribution of services.
- Personnel Supervision -Train, motivate, and supervise Food Pantry volunteers
- Schedule Food Pantry volunteers to ensure consistent, adequate support for operations.
Facilities Management- Maintain a clean, well-ordered pantry and property. -
- Perform minor facility maintenance. -
- Ensure all equipment –refrigerator, freezers, and facility stay in good working order; schedule maintenance/repairs as needed.
- Assist Parish Business Administrator with year-end budget process for client services

- Highest level of professional demeanor and work habits including maintaining confidentiality
- Action oriented work ethic
- Ability to lead multiple efforts at one time
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Experience working with diverse communities and an ability to demonstrate cultural sensitivity
- Technology proficient for procurement & reporting
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft applications (MS Word, Excel, Publisher, etc.)
- Ability to handle flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred

Minimum Qualifications
-
Education and Trainings: -Minimum 2 years' college degree or equivalent professional experience
Experience:- Have professional experience in the social services field or emergency food sector
- Understanding with the needs of low-income families and comfortable working in a diverse setting

Language: -English language skills required
Catholic Requirement: -Must be a practicing Catholic in good standing
Licenses/Certifications: -Must be certified by the Diocese of Austin EIM within 90 days of employment and maintain certification throughout the employment period
