Religious Education is a meaningful way to help the next generation grow in faith, hope, and charity. Our volunteers are a vital part of this important ministry in our parish and our Church and we look forward to serving with you!
Alert! We have a particular need for volunteers on Sundays accompanying children during Liturgy of the Word. For details about the program please click >> here <<.
There are two steps in the process of becoming a Catechist or Religious Education Volunteer:
Step 1: Submit your information to the Diocesan Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) Office.
The Diocese of Austin requires EIM training and a background check of all staff, volunteers, and clergy to ensure safe environments for children, youth, and elders and to promote ethical behavior in all ministries. Workshops and background checks are free of charge, but must be completed before you can serve as a volunteer.
For complete details, instructions, and the online form required for submitting your information, click here for the Diocesan EIM website.
Step 2: Complete the short questionnaire below to discern how you'd like to help.
“And this is the job of the catechist: constantly to go forth to others out of love to bear witness and to talk about Jesus, to proclaim Jesus. This is important because the Lord does it; it is the Lord that impels us to go forth.” - Pope Francis
