Catholicism 101Do you want to learn more about the Catholic faith? Whether you're seeking an adult understanding of the Catholic faith, are returning to the Church, you feel God calling you to something more, or just want to learn about Catholicism, you're invited to join Catholicism 101!
Catholicism 101 is held on Mondays from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Parish Office (2309 Euclid Ave.). Fill out the registration form below to get on our list for our section beginning August 12, 2024, and continuing on most Mondays through November 18, 2024. See the complete schedule of dates below.
If you're unbaptized or not Catholic and are curious about the Catholic faith, you are also welcome to join us! You may visit the RCIA webpage for more information about sessions to discern whether you want to become Catholic. You can contact us today via email or phone call (512-442-3602) to have a conversation about how you can learn more about the Catholic faith in Austin, Texas.
There are four main elements to our sessions every week.
The Weekly Topic. Each week, we hit the high points of one section of the Catechism of the Catholic Church. We use highly engaging materials that help us grow in understanding of the Catholic faith.
Reflection and Discussion. Knowledge is important, but so is putting faith into practice. We set aside time for you to reflect and consider the implications of what we learn and to hear how others make sense of the Catholic faith.
Questions and Answers. Questions are encouraged at these sessions. We dedicate time every week for Q&As. Additionally, our catechists will be available before and after for any one-on-one answers you may need.
Prayer. The foundation for our relationship with God, we will begin every session with prayer. Every month, we explore a different type of prayer and encourage you to practice that prayer at home.
Registration is not strictly required, but is encouraged as it allows us to make sure we have the appropriate amount of handouts and supplies on hand (not to mention chairs to sit in!). Register using the form below.
