First Communion, Regular Program: for children 6-7 years old.
Any baptized Catholic child who has reached the age of reason, 7 years of age and attended religious education classes during the first grade (of regular school) and is now in second grade is eligible to receive the Sacrament of the Eucharist, usually referred to as First Communion.
Saint Ignatius Martyr offers immediate preparation for the reception of the Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Communion for children. Sessions are held weekly throughout the year, from September through May, with the reception of the Sacraments celebrated during the winter and spring respectively.
Requirements:
1. Student must have completed 1(one) year of Religious Education instruction prior to being enrolled in the program, usually during first grade.
2. Student must be at least 7 years old at the time he/she begins the program
3. Student must be baptized and a copy of the baptismal Certificate must be submitted when registering.
4. Parents are required to attend a weekly class about the foundations of the Catholic Faith
5. Parents are required to attend three (3) Parent Meetings for the year. A) Parent Orientation (see calendar for dates) B) Reconciliation Retreat (see calendar for dates) C) Eucharist Meeting (see calendar for dates)
6. Registration is required.

Cost: $60.00 per Child/$140.00 for families registering three or more.
