There are many opportunities for involvement at the parish. Liturgical ministry opportunities for laity includes Ministers of Hospitality including greeters and ushers, Altar Servers, Lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, Sacristans and much more.
Altar Servers – Parish youth from 4th grade through high school, and adults who serve at the altar during liturgies. Formation and training are required. Ongoing training is scheduled throughout the year. Typically an altar server is scheduled to assist about once a month.
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion – Men, women and older youth who offer the Body and Blood of Christ to members during Masses and/or to our homebound parishioners. Formation and training are required.
Hospitality Ministers – Men, women and older youth who welcome and assist parishioners at weekend Masses, take up collections, guide Eucharistic processions and distribute materials as needed. Formation and training are required.
Lectors – Men, women and older youth who proclaim the sacred scriptures at liturgies. Formation and training are required. Typically a lector reads at mass approximately once a month.
All adult ministers must be compliant with the diocesan Ethics in Ministry requirements and a registered member of the parish. For all ministries except Altar Servers, a candidate for these ministries must be a Baptized and Confirmed Catholic.
