Dear Friends,
Next weekend, August 26 & 27, we will have our annual collection for our Holy Cross Mission Parish of La Luz in the Archdiocese of Monterrey, Mexico. The Pastor, Fr. Armando Morales, and the Associate Pastor, Fr. Pedro Carreño, will be here with us at all Masses to ask for your support.
St. Ignatius Martyr has been supporting our Holy Cross Mission in Mexico since 1996. I was pastor at La Luz for many years and I know how grateful we always were for your support. This past year I returned to help at the Mission, and I saw again how your donations have helped so many people there. For example, the children had new catechism books, the youth were able to go on retreats,
and the program called “Caritas” was able to expand the food pantry and open a soup kitchen in the poorest area
of the parish.
Recently, our Holy Cross Mission Center asked me to write a brief article on how St. Ignatius Martyr has supported our Holy Cross Mission for the past 27 years. I simply said that we have been “twinning” with La Luz Parish and that it is the Mission of our parish. (read the full article here: holycrossusa.org/article/holy-cross-in-mexico)
May God bless all of you for your generosity in next week’s collection for our Holy Cross Mission in Mexico.
Sincerely in Christ,
Fr. Pete Logsdon, csc
