What is the RCIA for children? It is a spiritual process toward the Christian Initiation of children not baptized as infants in the catholic faith. Children of catechetical age will be brought to the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist through the development, promotion, and implementation of the initiation process presented in the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults. This liturgical rite of the church is the official norm to be followed in the initiation of adults and children who have reached catechetical age.
Who is Eligible to participate in the RCIA for children? It is open to un-baptized children or children baptized in another faith who have attained the use of reason and are of catechetical age, 7 years and older.
What is the process like? Children, like adults, take a journey of faith inspired by their spiritual progress. Various rites mark their growth in their faith and culminate with the celebrations of baptism, confirmation, and the Eucharist at the Easter Vigil.
